Fulvic Acid
Fulvic acid has been discovered to be one of the most important natural miracles related to life itself. It is complex acids created in extremely small amounts by the action of millions of beneficial microbes, working on decaying plant matter in a soil environment with adequate oxygen. Fulvic acid is part of the humic structure in rich composting soil. Fulvic acids contain a vast amount of naturally occuring bio-chemicals, supercharged antioxidants, free-radical scavengers, super oxide dismutases (“SOD”), nutrients, enzymes, hormones, DNA, RNA, amino acids, natural antibiotics, natural antivirals, and natural fungicides. It is of low molecular weight and is biologically very active. Because of its low molecular weight, it has the necessity and ability to readily bond minerals and elements into its molecular structure causing them to dissolve and become mobilized fulvic complexes. Fulvic acid from humic (or humate) deposits usually carries 60 or more minerals and trace elements dissolved into its molecular complexes. These are then in ideal natural form to be absorbed and interact with living cells. Plants roots and cells readily absorb high amounts of fulvic acid, and maintain it in their structure. IN FACT IT HAS BEEN DISCOVERED THAT THESE FULVIC ACID COMPLEXES ARE ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL FOR PLANTS TO BE HEALTHY. It is most important to realize that fulvic acid is the perfect vehicle provided and intended by nature for transport of minerals to living cells.
Fulvic acid is an organic catalyst and is the work horse of the humic acid chain because of its physical, chemical, and biological benefits.
Fulvic Sources
- Peat or compost –fulvic acid products that do not contain rich amounts of trace elements are usually peat fermentations or 1st generation fulvic.
- Lignite or Leonardite – brown coal – inferior humate.
- Virgin Humate – the absolute best fulvic acid comes from ancient deposits of lush plant matter that were buried and naturally composted over millions of years; resulting in the purest most concentrated form of organic matter referred to as Humates).
The two major life functions which cannot be duplicated by man are Photosynthesis and Humification.
How is Fulvic Acid Formed
Fulvic acid is a derivative of microbial degradation of humic substances. Microorganisms are essential to the process. Each gram of healthy top soil has in excess of four billion microorganisms that participate in manufacturing bio-chemicals essential to healthy plants and animals. If they were to fail our lives would cease. A better perspective of their importance can be gained by looking at the work they do. Microorganism activity in preparing one acre of top soil, expends the equivalent energy of 10,000 people doing the same amount of work in the same amount of time.
Fulvic acid is one of natures miracles of unparalleled proportion!
The Enzyme Connection
An enzyme is a catalyst that does not enter into a reaction but speeds up or causes a reaction to take place. Enzymes are complex proteins. The burning of glucose in cells for instance, requires the action of several enzymes, each working on the substrate of the previous reaction. Each cell of the body (when properly nourished) is capable of producing the enzymes needed for complete metabolism. Research has shown that fulvic acid improves enzymatic reactions in cells and produces maximum stimulation of enzyme development. The fulvic acid molecule often contains within its structure coenzymes and important factors which the cells may utilize in stimulation of enzyme reactions and the manufacturing of, and formation of enzymes. Fulvic acid will in all probability, be found to be one of the key factors of enzyme reactions with all living cells.
Humic Acids are Crucial to Life on Earth
When they become depleted via oxidation or deactivated by sodium or aluminum, soil problems develop and can cause negative effects all the way up the food chain. Conditions of soil depletion resulting in low yield and/or susceptibility to diseases and pests have resulted in devastating effects for many civilizations of the past.Once humus (organic matter) is depleted, trace element availability along with phosphorus and calcium availability starts to decline. Anthropologists have observed this in many ancient civilizations. Human skeletons have shown the effects of deficiencies such as dental problems, osteoporosis and bone degeneration possibly resulting in many dying at young ages. When zinc is depleted learning ability is lost in the population along with fertility, and that is the end of that civilization. Analyzing the bone of the “mound builder” civilization of the U.S. Midwest has proved this. Bones found at the bottom of the mounds were in good health, whereas those found towards the top of the burials (or the end of the mound builders civilization) teeth and bone problems were very apparent through analysis of low-level zinc, calcium and phosphorus mineral content. Therefore, we can learn about mistakes of past civilizations concerning the need for improving agricultural soils through use of humate product, but are we doing enough in this country to reduce this problem? 77 years ago, in 1936, the 2nd Session of the 74th Congress of the United States Senate was warned that the American people faced major mineral depletion due to “modern” farming methods. The Senate Report was based on a study conducted by Dr. Charles Northern. It was further supported by research completed at Yale, Rutgers, John Hopkins, Columbia and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Dr. Northern demonstrated “that countless human ills stem from the fact that impoverished soil of America no longer provided plant foods with mineral elements essential to human nourishment and health.” Soybeans grown with conventional nutrients. It is well known that there are 3 places in the world where people tend to live longer, healthier lives – Abkhazia, Russia, Vilcabamba, Ecuador and Hunzakut, Pakistan. Acclaimed author and world traveller, Lowell Thomas, on a visit to Hunzakut, wrote that the people living on this mountain enjoyed extraordinary youth and health into their 100’s. The local postman’s route through these mountainous passes consisted of 130 miles. He ran this distance to deliver mail twice per week – an extraordinary feat ……..….specially since he was 92 years of age! To qualify for the ‘Royal Volleyball Team’ one had to be 98 or older. It is said they played and looked like 50 year olds. There was 1 doctor per 30,000 people, ONLY for broken bones. Most of his patients lived to 120-140.
Renowned Longevity and Health of isolated Himalayan cultures is linked to Fulvic Acid extracted from fossil-like humic substances
Traditional medicine throughout the Himalayan belt lists the indigenous humic substance and resultant fulvic acids as a “rasayana” or rejuvenator, reputed to arrest the aging process and induce revitalization of attenuated physiological functions. The special endurance attributed to the Sherpas, including their ability to survive extremely cold conditions and high altitudes has also been linked to these substances during the medical studies.
Clinical studies in pharmacology have shown value in treatment of diabetes mellitus (attenuates the development and progression), stomach ulcers (antiulcerogenic and anti-stress activity), allergies and anti-allergic action (mast cell protection), hormonal control and regulation of immunity (immunomodulatory functions), and tumor and cell growth factors relating to activated white blood cells and immune system (splenocytes and peritoneal macrophages).
Traditional Medicine of the region prescribes the local rare fulvic acid extract in genitourinary diseases, jaundice, gallstones, enlarged spleen, digestive disorders, epilepsy, nervous diseases, elephantiasis, chronic bronchitis, dementia, arthritis, and anemia. The humic extract has been shown to accelerate the process of rehabilitation of muscles, bones and nerves, and is used to treat many geriatric complaints including memory loss, and is believed to increase cerebral functions. It has also proven useful as an aphrodisiac, rejuvenator, alternative tonic, stimulant, internal antiseptic, diuretic, lithontriptic, and is used for treatment of respiratory problems, worms, piles, adiposity, renal and bladder stones, nervous diseases, amenorrhoea, dysmenorrhoea, menorrhagia, eczema, anorexia, and fracture of bones.
Historically, fulvic acids from the Himalayan region have been shown effective for treatment of cold stress, tumors, skin diseases, rheumatic pain, kidney stones, heart ailments, leprosy, and many other ailments. Fulvic acids are also a panacea of oriental medicine, where they continue to be used extensively.
These discoveries are most significant, considering the fact that the various cultures of these remote Himalayan regions have used organic farming practices for centuries, which promote soil and crops already rich in natural humic/fulvic substances. Yet these people still find that additional fulvic acid supplementation and medication proves highly beneficial to their health, and alleviates disease problems when they arise. This shows that the ancient vegetation, which was the source for the rare fulvic acids, has exceptional properties that may even surpass those of vegetation found anywhere on Earth today.
The rare humic deposits of the region were exposed at the time of uplift of the Himalayas, and are normally found from about 5,000-15,000 feet of elevation. These humic deposits are exposed by landslides, excavation or road-cutting. It is important to note that similar high quality humic substances found in various other regions of the Earth show similar results.

Heavy Metals & Petrochemicals
It is known also that fulvic acid is readily admitted into living cells. This may be in part to its low molecular weight, its electrical potential, its bio-transporting ability or factors yet to be discovered. It is known however that once inside the living cell it participates in selective trading or supply of minerals and other nutrient factors inside the cell. In addition to supplying essential nutrients to the cell it has been shown that the fulvic acid can chelate toxins reducing them to a harmless state. The fulvic and humic acids are effective in neutralizing such a wide range of toxic materials from heavy metals, radioactive waste, petro-chemicals and industrial waste that tests are soon to be conducted on a new system designed to compost land fill refuse using the fulvic and humic acids to safely render all toxins harmless. At the cellular level fulvic acid is superior for neutralizing toxins, heavy metals and other harmful substances and carrying these intruders out of the body.
Australia’s Ecotoxicology Program found that when fish swam in water with fulvic acid, their aluminum toxicity levels were up to six times lower than otherwise.
Anti-aging, Dementia, Alzheimers
Hospital studies in China show that elderly patients, ages 60-90, when treated with fulvic acid, regained appetite, slept better, and became more energetic. Other hospital studies coming from India show that fulvic acids are considered to be a powerful anti-aging therapy that also able to help with symptoms of dementia. Fulvic acid inhibits aggregation and promotes disassembly of tau fibrils protein associated with Alzheimer’s disease. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21785188
Longevity
Major Sir Robert McCarrison wrote about the Hunzas back in the 1930s when he had a post with the Indian Medical Service. According to McCarrison, the Hunzas enjoyed near-perfect physical and mental health and some of them lived to be over 135 years old. There seemed to be no evidence of diabetes, obesity, or heart attacks among them as well. There was also no evidence of cancer.
Bronchial Asthma
Hospital studies show that the common cold and related bronchial asthma and respiratory illnesses from infection, can be rapidly cured when patients are treated with fulvic acid. Especially pleasing to parents is the powerful and immediate effect this therapy has on young children. Erchuan Wang et al, Humic acid, 3 (1991)
Fulvic Annihilates Radio-active Elements
Rashid stated that nuclear reactor wastes contain unused uranium, the basic fuel, and long-lived fission product nuclides and actinides, including plutonium, strontium-90, zirconium-95, iodine-129, cesium-137 and cesium 135, all in abundance. Activated metals such as cobalt-60, iron-59, and manganese-54 also are present in reactor waste. He states that the basic reactions of these materials with humic substances are parallel to those of other transition and trace metals. “Radioactive elements have an affinity for humic and fulvic acids. They form organo-metal complexes of different adsorptive stability and solubility. Uranuim and plutonium are influenced by humic substances as are other polluting metals, each being solubilized and absorbed, thereby annihilating that specific radioactivity – in other words, a natural remedy for radiation therapy.
Vegetal Silica Necessary for Calcium
Professor Louis C. Kervran’s research (France) found that chickens totally deprived of calcium produced soft shelled eggs. When “mica” was added to their diets, the hens’ ability to lay calcium rich, hard shelled eggs was restored. Mica contains no calcium; but, it does contain potassium and silica, both of which can be biologically transmutated into calcium.
Kervran found that an analysis of incubated chicken eggs revealed that hatched chick’s contained 400% more calcium than did the egg from which they came. Examination of eggs prior to incubation, revealed the yoke and the white to be separated from the shill by a membrane rich in organic silica. After incubation, the membrane was no longer present. The silica had transmutated into calcium, which accounted for the four fold increase of calcium in the hatched chicks.
These same researchers conducted other controlled animal experiments. When vegetal silica was added to the diets of animals with broken bones, the bones healed much faster and stronger than the bones of a control group of animals deficient in vegetal silica but rich in mineral calcium.
Fulvic Acid, Vegetal Silica, & Arthritis
Fulvic Acid and vegetal silica appear to have the unique ability to interact positively with degenerative calcium deposits and unhealthy cone structures in the body. Arthritis sufferers taking a combination of fulvic acid and vegetal silica have noticed an immediate and marked increase in discomfort, and this has continued for 1 to 2 weeks or sometimes longer after beginning of use. This discomfort is believed to be due to the breakdown of calcium deposits in the joints and its ongoing and subsequent mobilization, dissolution, and removal. It is further believed that these calcium deposits react with the fulvic acid minerals, and silica and transmutate in to more suitable forms that become beneficial to the body. After the painful period, the discomfort begins to diminish and noted relief of symptoms begins. Some arthritis sufferers notice the beginning of relief in 2 to 3 weeks. Others may take longer, yet show signs of relief after several months of use. Some people notice significant relief of arthritis symptoms in about 30 days. A significant number of people report total relief in 1-5 months.
Bone Replacement
Tests were conducted by Dr. W. Schlickewei and five associatesat the University Hospital in Freiburg, German, on human patients requiring transplantation or replacement of bone during surgery. Summary: In this clinical test and previous experiments, fulvic acid has been shown to activate and stimulate white blood cells, promoting healing, turn inorganic calcium into an organic bio-active cellular regenerative medium conducive to new bone growth, stimulate cellular growth and regeneration, and inhibit the HIV virus.
Hepatitis
Humate is a pharmacy that raises non-specific organism resistance. This fact was confirmed by using such models as atoxic anemia, toxic hepatitis, peptic ulcer and hypercholesterolemia Experimental bases and prospects for the use of humic acid preparations from peat in medicine and agricultural production. Lotosh, T. D. nauchnye Doki Vyss Shkoly Biol Nauki, 1991; Issue 10; Pages 99-103.
Rheumatism, Arthritis, Stomach Hyperacidity, Gastric Ulcers
German companies have a number of humic and fulvic based products. These include the following healing bath additives: Moorbad Saar N, Humopin N, Leukona Sulfomoor-Bad N, Salhumin Rheuma-Bad, Salhumin Sitbad N, Salhmin Teilbad N, Contrheuma-Bad L, mostly for the relief of rheumatism and arthritis. Huminit is used internally for the treatment of stomach hyperacidity and other gastric disturbances, gastric ulcers and gastroenteritis in humans.
Rheumatoid Arthritis
In studies with hospital patients with rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune disorder, Humic extract bath therapy treatment had 92% success rate. Several hundred similar studies have been performed in China showing that Fulvic acid and Humic extracts are proven highly successful. Hemorrhoids
Clinical medical studies using humic and fulvic acids were performed on thousands of hemorrhoid patients which were so successful that the Chinese government had a special pharmaceutical preparation developed for treatment of this condition. Immune System, Hormone Systems, Digestive Tract Disorders, Anti-cancer & Anti-tumor Therapy
Chinese doctors now use fulvic related medicines to reduce inflammation, increase circulation and control bleeding, to regulate the immune system and hormone systems, to heal digestive tract disorders, and as an anti-cancer and anti-tumor therapy.
Humates bolster the immune system. Dr. Daryl See, MD, formerly an Immunologist of UCI Medical School, suggests that the mechanism is related to the humates ability to complex (assemble) sugars within the body. The abundance of these complexed sugars allows the body to manufacture glycoproteins that attach to the killer and T cell acting as a modulator or communication link between the cells. This regulates the immune system cells and prevents either the T or Killer cells from becoming out of balance. Excessive killer cells can attack bone and joints causing arthritis. Conversely, excessive T cells can cause auto-immune diseases.
Along this same line, burn victims and radiation sickness experience immune system responses that attack the body’s dead cells creating unwanted infections. Humates cause the immune system to recognize its own dead cells thereby reducing infection. Baylor Medical School is currently researching humates both topically applied and internally dosed for burn victims to reduce infections. Russian scientists are using the same principle for the treatment of radiation sickness. Sodium humate has been found to increase the lifespan of mongrel rats exposed to lethal doses of cobalt radiation . Effect of sodium humate on animals irradiated with lethal doses. Pukhova, G. G.; Druzhina, H. A.; Stepchenko, L. M.; Chebotarev, E. E. Radiobiologiia, 1987; Vol. 27; Issue 5; Pages 650-653.
Incurable Epidemic hemorrhagic Fever (or EBOLA)
Hospital studies show that patients with normally incurable epidemic Hemorrhagic Fever were able to be successfully treated with humic extracts, which stopped bleeding, restored circulation, removed clots, was anti-viral, and significantly bolstered and regulated the immune system. Yinzhang Cui, Humic Acid, 1 (1991)
2002 National Institutes of Health (NIH) The NIH published a report titled “Broad Spectrum Antiviral Effectiveness of Humates”. The NIH studied humic acid’s virus-fighting properties for viral diseases such as gastroenteritis, influenza, herpes, chicken pox, mononucleosis and hemorrhaging fevers caused by the Ebola and Hanta viruses. Results showed that humic acid, when consumed before the virus invaded the body, was effective in presenting disease. Tests performed against multiple virus types further confirmed humic acids broad anti-viral properties. Toxicity tests showed that humic acid bound itself to human cells but was not itself toxic, nor did it inhibit or interfere with cell development or reproduction.
Parasitic Eye Disease
Extensive hospital eye clinic studies using humic extracts showed 100% success in curing eye diseases caused by virus, bacteria, or fungus, also healing ulcerous wounds, relieving inflammation, and stopping hemorrhaging, without side effects. Guofan, Tang, Jiangxi Humic Acid, 3 (1984)
Skin Ulcers
Hospital patients with skin ulcers had 92.2% success rate when treated with fulvic acid and humic extract baths. Yuan, Shenyuan; Fulvic Acid, 4 1988; in Application of Fulvic acid and its derivatives in the fields ofagriculture and medicine; First Edition: June 1993
Corneal Ulcers
Hospital eye clinic patients with ulcerous cornea infection had 94.2% success rate when treated with fulvic acid eye drops and injections.

Studies of patients with gastric and duodenal ulcers showed that 91.1% had condition improve when treated with fulvic acid. Treatment showed no side effects, substantially diminished pain, with few relapses, with 61.1% of patients being completely cured. Xinsheng Zhu, Fulvic Acid, 9 (1991)
External application for Pain Relief, Anti-inflammatory, Blood Flow Increasing
Dr. Visser stated that external applications of humic and fulvic acids are based on their use as antiphlogistic (anti-inflammatory), analgesic (pain relieving), hyperemic (blood flow increasing), anti-rheumatic, anti-microbial, anti-fungal, antiviral and anti-cancer agents. Humic and fulvic acids have also been used externally in the treatment of hematoma (localized accumulation of blood), phlebitis (inflammation of veins), desmorrhexis (rupture of a ligament), and myogelosis (hardening of a muscle), as well as for the treatment of patients with contusions, distortions, cervical (neck) complaints, lumbago (pain in the lower back), ischias (pelvic pain in the hip joint), arthrosis (non-inflammatory arthritis), polyarthritis (arthritis of multiple joints), osteoarthritis (arthrosis deformans), and with osteochondrosis (ossification of cartilage).
Internal Application for Diarrhea, Ulcers, Acidity, Colitis, Bacteria & Viruses
Dr. Visser stated with respect to internal use, humic and fulvic acids have been shown to be particularly useful in the prophylaxis (prevention), therapy and metaphylaxis (after-care) of a variety of stomach and intestinal troubles such as, hyper-acidity, diarrhea, gastric ulcers, dysentery, gastroenteritis and colitis. They can also act as a detoxifying agent, and have been used against bacterial and viral infections. They have been found to be useful in the treatment of anemia (deficiency of red blood cells, hemoglobin or total blood volume) and as a stimulator of the body’s immune system and of detoxifying liver functions. By counteracting certain kinds of cancerous growth, humic acids may also have a potential as an anti- carcinogen.
Early studies with livestock animals were conducted by Dr. Charles S. Hansen, D.V.M. in the state of California from the early 1960’s through 1967 on an experimental basis. Cows with bacterial infection (mastitis) treated with 1 pint of fulvic acid solution recovered to full production in 12 to 24 hours. When using antibiotics to treat mastitis the recovery was only 50%-70% after 2-3 weeks.
Also cows had an increase of 16% more calcium.
Supplementing to chicken feed acted as a vermifuge.
Works as an excellent vermifuge (deworming agent) for hogs.
Species for which natural humic substances have been shown to be inhibitory include Candida albican, Enterobacter Cloacae, Proteus Vulgaris, Psuedomonas Aeruginosa, Salmonella typhimurium, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Streptococcus pyogenes .
Note: fulvic acid is the smaller sized, and more reactive molecule in humic acid.

It seems that within the body, humates stimulate the “good” microbes while suppressing the “bad” microbes. Testing of milk during field trials indicated a large increase of microbes within the milk. This is usually an indication to the dairyman of impending mastitis (tit infection). The opposite actually happened. Mastitis cases within the milking herd dropped from an average of 3 to 4 cases daily to 4 cases in a month .
Additional conformation of reduction of mastitis was observed in lactating female goats.

Influenza Virus
The Natural-product humate(s) (Humic Acid) were found to be quite effective against all three influenza viruses.” National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) under the auspices of the National Institutes of Health, August 2001 – January 2002
HIV & Influenza
This study printed by NCBI pubmed
Genetic diversity and hypermutation contribute to difficulties in developing a vaccine against viruses like HIV and influenza. A formulation consisting of fulvic acid, a complex mixture of compounds was previously reported to render vaccinia virus, HIV and SARS virus non-infectious. Recently, both fulvic acid and pomegranate juice have been shown to inactivate genetically diverse strains of influenza including H5N1, further confirming the broad spectrum nature of these agents
Herpes simplex virus
“It is therefore concluded that it is possible to test the anti-viral effects of all four (Humic Acid) compounds up to 500 ug/mL without any drug-related cytotoxicity.” “Furthermore, three series of experiments were designed to explore the potential mechanisms of action. The first series of experiments demonstrated that all four compounds (of Humic Acid) can inactivate both herpes simplex virus 1 and herpes simplex virus 2 infections with different anti-viral activities. The second series of experiments demonstrated that the compounds (of Humic Acid) can protect cells against herpes simplex virus 1 and herpes simplex virus 2 infection. National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) under the auspices of the National Institutes of Health, August 2001 – January 2002
Respiratory virus
Of great interest is that hospital studies show that difficult viral respiratory illnesses common in children are readily resolved with fulvic acid dietary supplementation. Many medical studies show that humic substances, especially fulvic acids, have the power to protect against cancer and related cancer-causing viruses. Studies often show reversal of deadly cancers and tumors using special humic substance therapies. (Schneider et al. 1996, van Rensburg et al. 2002, Joone et al. 2003).
Chronic Fatigue/Anti-stress
According to Dr. Edward Group, founder of Global Healing Center fulvic “actively takes part in the transportation of nutrients into deep tissues and helps to overcome tiredness, lethargy, and chronic fatigue. It also works effectively as a tonic for cardiac, gastric, and nervous systems, adaptogen and anti-stress agent.” Fulvic acid has been shown to discourage age-related cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, jaundice, bronchitis and anemia as well.
Chronic Pain
Dr. Susan Lark, MD, a foremost authority in clinical nutrition and preventative medicine, recounts numerous testimonials from individuals using fulvic acid who believe it encouraged the healing of cancer, fibromyalgia, arthritis, wounds, autism and chronic pain.
Anti-inflammatory
Reports documented in the Chinese Materia Medica pharmacological compendium, dating back to the 15th century Ming Dynasty. During that period, a very famous medical doctor, Li Shi Zhen, used “Wujinsan”, meaning “golden medicine”, containing humic and fulvic acids as the active ingredient in the treatment of infectious ulcerous growth and female hemorrhage diseases. These studies showed humic and fulvic acids to be efficient anti-inflammatory and blood coagulating agents.
Thyroid Tumors
Outpatient medical hospital studies on thyroid tumors, some cancerous, showed that injections with a special Humic extract was 90% successful in stopping tumor growth and diminishing size of tumors, with 80% of patients having complete cures. He, Shenyi, et al; Humic acid in Jiangxi Province, 1 (1982)
Overactive Thyroid
Outpatient medical hospital studies on overactive thyroid had 90.9% cure rate within a six month period when patients were treated with a fulvic acid medication. Yuan, Shenyuan; Tongren Hospital, Beijing; Fulvic Acid, 4 (1988)
Diabetes Mellitus
With Fulvic acid, diabetes patients became more energetic and the tingling, painful feeling and numbness experienced in the nerve endings disappeared or were reduced.” ––Yuan, Shenyuan; et al; Application of Fulvic acid and its derivatives in the fields of agriculture and medicine; First Edition: June 1993
“Scientists recognized that the Fulvic acids showed significant success in preventing and combating free radical damage to pancreatic islet B cells, which is the widely accepted cause for diabetes mellitus. What they discovered was that the Fulvic acid preparation significantly increases super oxide dismutase (SOD) activity. Their clinical studies showed that Fulvic acids diminished the development and progression of diabetes, and assisted in the treatment.” Bhattacharya, S.K. Activity of Fitoterapia, Volume LXVI, No 4, 1995, pg. 328.
Due to the historical and recent expanding success of the diabetes treatments in the Himalayan region, medical researchers have taken a more serious interest in determining if the claims have scientific merit. Dr. Salil K. Bhattacharya and scientists from the Neuropharmacology Laboratory, Department of Pharmacology, Institute of Medial Sciences, at Banaras Hindu University in India, undertook extensive clinical studies on the subject. What they proved was that it was the Fulvic acid, and other closely associated Humic compounds, that were responsible for the anti-diabetic activity and long reputed historical success of that preparation.
Tendons
Not only does the humate relieve swelling from joint inflammation, it has been shown to bond to the collagen fibers to aid in repair of damaged tendons and bone. Tendon strength has been shown to increase by as much as 75% . Effects of Implanted bovine calcium hydroxyapatite with humate. Kreutz; Schlikekewey, W. Arch. Orthop. Trauma Surg., 1992, Vol. 111; Issue 5; pages 259-264.
Unstoppable Bleeding
In hospital studies, profuse otherwise unstoppable bleeding of the mucousmembranes of the nose, mouth, throat, bronchial and lung areas, related to acuterespiratory and viral infections in patients with tuberculosis, heart failure, leukemia, and other serious diseases, were successfully stopped with fulvic acid therapy. Suchen Cao, Jiangxi Humic Acid, 3 (1993)
Gastroenterological Bleeding
Hospital patients with acute upper gastroenterological bleeding had 95.6% success rate when treated with fulvic acid oral medicine and injections. Yuan, Shenyuan; Fulvic Acid, 4 1988; in Application of Fulvic acid and its derivatives in the fields of agriculture and medicine; First Edition: June 1993
Heart
Chemically (strophantinum) induced heart stoppage in frogs was examined. Frogs that were given humate continuously for 10 days prior to the drug increased the time of heart activity 48.7% in comparison with the control group. Additionally the protective property of the humate was revealed when toxic doses of strychnine (inhibits metabolism in the central nervous system) were administered to test mice. Those mice (70%) given humate 10 days prior to the treatment lived, while 100% of the control died. Experimental bases and prospects for the use of humic acid preparations from peat in medicine and agricultural production. Lotosh, T. D. nauchnye Doki Vyss Shkoly Biol Nauki, 1991; Issue 10; Pages 99-103.
Chronic Bronchitis
Hospital studies showed that serious and acute cases of chronic bronchitis were better treated and cured with fulvic acid (96.77% cure rate) that worked significantly better than conventional drug therapy. Symptoms of inflammation, coughing, sputum and asthma, were also much better alleviated. Jingrong Chen et al, jiangxi humic acid, 2 (1984)
Pregnant Animals
Dr. G. Davies summarized the effects of humic acids in the Nucleus, Feb. 1996, in a monograph titled “Properties and functions of humic acids.” He stated that oral doses of humic acids reduce heavy metal absorption in animals and also decrease pesticide toxicity. Humic acids can be administered preventatively and therapeutically in animals, including pregnant animals, without apparent risk. Some humic acids control uterine cancer in rats and humic acids markedly reduce the mutagenic effect of benzopyrene, 3-aminoanthracene, 2-nitrofluorene and 1-nitropyrene. The anti-mutagenic effect depends upon the adsorption of these dangerous chemicals onto the humic acid surface. Since fulvic acid is humic acid, the bioactive component, all data applies to fulvic acid as well.
Dr. Dan Nuzum has stated, Mrs. Nuzum took fulvic throughout her pregnancy and delivered two bright, healthy children, who also take his fulvic product, and continue to be extra healthy and very bright children.
